Sportphoto.co.za has been established since 2010. We cover several events in South Africa but our focus is on the Western Cape. We have photographers covering all the major sport with a special focus on rugby (Springbok, 7’s, Super 18, Currie Cup, Varsity Cup, etc.), Cricket (Proteas, Provincial, school etc.) Hockey (Proteas, Provincial etc.). Our partner company Pixlab.biz also cover events (Elvis Blue, Henri Pike, #Imagine, Theatre productions etc.) We do Festivals (Art, Music, X-games etc.) We have photographers specializing in editorial, product and portrait photography. We serve an International market and provide media to newspapers and magazines (National and International). We have a special relationship with the Australian media and provide a lot of media to them. (There is a lot of South Africans longing for photos of South Africa). Our main focus is web based news. Because we do not sell contracts and are willing to sell single photos to websites and cover live events we are flooded with web clients. We also provide practical training for Photography Students. We give them the opportunity to cover some of the smaller events with seasoned photographers. Most of them understand the “getting the photo” but do not understand the trade. Many of them lack skills in communication and interaction with event and event organizers. We not only teach them the ropes but how to be professional.
